We want to be a part of the solution in eradicating isolation and loneliness amongst elderly people all across the UK. In partnership with Regenerate-RISE and their elderly centres in Putney & Ealing, our goal is to reach out to the most vulnerable and at risk elderly through developing friendships, and providing support and practical help. By building relationships and placing value upon these people, we have seen hope restored and the lives of these elderly people flourish.
Below are some ways how we are reaching out to the elderly, read through them to find out what interests you to get involved in.
Adopt a Granny / Granddad
Through Regenerate-RISE, this is a long term commitment to connecting and developing a relationship with an elderly / vulnerable person in South West London. For example you would meet up with them, accompany them going to the shops, join them on appointments or simply have a cup of tea and chat! This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are passionate about spending time with this age group!
Monthly Lunch Café
Every month we organise a Lunch Café at the Platt Centre in Putney. Apart from preparing and serving the elderly a scrumptious lunch we organise fun activities, hang out for the afternoon for great chats and building valuable friendships.
Kings & Queens Summer Party
Once a year, together with Regenerate-RISE, we host a Summer party for the elderly that live within the community of South West London! This is a great celebration to be a part of, making the guests feel as real Kings and Queens!
Sign up to help out with Kings & Queens on 7th of September 2019 – register here.
We want to make sure Christmas is a special time for everyone and in partnership with Regenerate-RISE we organise a Christmas party for the elderly in their elderly centres.
Other Elderly Centres across London and Home Counties
Regenerate-Rise is one of our key partners in eradicating isolation amongst the elderly in our community but we are in a dozen other elderly centres across London, Kent and Surrey.
We go over in small groups to do activities, build friendships and place value upon the elderly in our neighbourhoods.
If you’re interested in helping out and serve the elderly in our community, we’d love to get you involved. Whether it’s through adopting a granny or granddad, go out to the elderly centres or help out with the annual events we organise, please fill out the form below.
Please note a DBS check will need to be completed before volunteering.
